(Note: During the Lenten Season City Church will be blogging about Lent and our journey to Holy Week [April 9th – April 16]. I will be linking to the blog posts here on my blog page but you can find each blog post on our City Church website. Our hope is that each of these blog/articles will be an encouragement to you as you journey through the Lenten season as well.) There were no posts for Day 29-34. Today’s blog post is written by Pastor Jack Carter, Pastor Emeritus at City Church.
Lent Day 35: Salvation
For me, Lent has been and continues to be a time of reflection, of paying greater attention to God, of not neglecting His “so great salvation.” Of course, every generation of Christians has pondered the solemn warnings of Scripture, particularly from the writer of Hebrews as he said, “We must pay greater attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it…how can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?” This ‘so great salvation’ was declared at first through the Lord Jesus and it was attested to us by those who heard Him.”
