(Note: During the Lenten Season City Church will be blogging about Lent and our journey to Holy Week [April 9th – April 16]. I will be linking to the blog posts here on my blog page but you can find each blog post on our City Church website. Our hope is that each of these blog/articles will be an encouragement to you as you journey through the Lenten season as well.) Today’s post is written by Rev. Jack Carter.
Lent Day 8: God-Consiousness by Rev. Jack Carter
The anointed song writer sings, “Examine me, God, and know my mind; probe me and know my anxious thoughts; how filled with anxiety I often am; see if I am behaving like an idolator, and guide me in the ancient path, the way of upright men of the past” Ps. 139:23-24
God really knows us inside and out. God is a Judge, correctly appraising all things and thus rendering perfect justice. This truth should produce awe in us, and yet not cringing fear. For our Judge is also our Savior and He is Love.
Today’s Scripture Reading: Matthew 8 (focus on 8:23-34)
